FRIENDS OF TIK-TOK

Friends of Tik Tok is a parents group which meets on a regular basis to discuss nursery policy and arrange fund raising activities and social events. We encourage the involvement of parents and welcome new members. If you are interested in joining please contact the Nursery Manager, Beverley Cook.

Kate House: - Chair

Claire Cooper - Treasurer

Kate House is the chair of the Friends of Tik Tok group and has two daughters aged three and 16 months, who have both been with the nursery from the age of one year. Kate's key responsibility is to chair the meetings of Friends of Tik -Tok, where activities and fundraising ideas will be organised and important childcare issues discussed. Kate has also started producing a newsletter communicating what has been discussed at these meetings to all parents, which can be found in the "Latest News" section. Kate joined because she feels it is important to represent the voice of Tik-Tok parents and that her children get the highest standard of care.

As a parent and an experienced member of Friends of Tik -Tok, Kate understands the importance of communication between parents and nursery staff.
She says:

“Childcare should be a partnership between parent or carer and nursery. I have always been very impressed by the friendly and caring nature of all nursery staff and their interest in our family life outside of the nursery. I find them very open and willing to discuss any matter relating to the children. To me, this is the key to a successful nursery - feeling like this is not just a service but more of a community."
