HELEN
HEADS UP FRIENDS OF TIK-TOK
Gateshead nursery Tik-Tok is pleased to
welcome Helen Green as the new Chair of ‘Friends
of Tik-Tok’- the nursery’s board of parents.
The
Tik-Tok neighbourhood nursery is a non-profit
organisation that provides a high quality
service of daycare for children between
six weeks and five years. A mother of two
daughters aged three and 18 months,
Helen’s
key responsibilities in her new position
will be to chair the meetings of Friends
of Tik -Tok, where activities and fundraising
ideas will be organised and important childcare
issues discussed. In her new position Helen
will continue to help Friends of Tik-Tok
to represent the voice of Tik-Tok parents.
Tik-Tok
is moving to bigger, improved premises in the
New Year and Helen is thrilled at her appointment
at this point in Tik
-Tok’s exciting development. Helen is looking
forward to playing an active role as Chair
of Friends of Tik -Tok as she has been involved
with Friends of Tik -Tok since her first
daughter started at the nursery.
As a parent
and an experienced member of Friends of
Tik -Tok, Helen understands the importance
of communication between parents and nursery
staff.
She says:
“Childcare should be a
partnership between parent or carer and
nursery. By agreeing to be Chair of Friends
of Tik -Tok I hope to assist the effectiveness
of this partnership.”
With an impressive
new site and Helen Green as the Chair of
Friends of Tik-Tok, 2004 promises to be
an exciting year for Tik-Tok nursery. The
new Tik-Tok Neighbourhood
Nursery has been supported by the European Regional Development Fund, Neighbourhood
Nursery Initiative, New Opportunities Fund, Learning & Skills Council and Single
Regeneration Budget.
