 Well furnished, safe activity rooms. We take meals seriously, good nutritionally valuable food in spacious surroundings. | Tik-Tok is a non-profit making children’s daycare nursery in Gateshead established in 1991. We provide full-time and part-time places for babies and children aged six weeks to five years. The exciting news is that Tik-Tok has moved to a brand new purpose-built Community Nursery, in Old Fold Road, Gateshead opposite Gateshead International Stadium. Each daycare nursery playroom is monitored by CCTV and has it's own secure garden area. The nursery works In close partnership with parents, and we promote an environment of high quality daycare through our key worker development programme. We enable children to reach their full potential in an exciting, stimulating and educational atmosphere, geared to each child’s individual needs. This encourages them to progress and learn in a warm, secure and caring environment. “Parents receive clear and well-presented information about the educational provision… Parents are encouraged to linger in the nursery and time is allocated each day so they can talk to staff about their child's activities at home and share with staff information about their child.” (Extracts from OFSTED report 2001)
Tik Tok offers equal opportunities with regard to religious persuasion, racial origin, gender, disabilities, culture and linguistic background. Each child will be treated as an individual and given both the time and the opportunity to develop their own self-esteem, self worth and value within the nursery environment. Children of both sexes will be given the opportunity to participate in all areas of play. Tik Tok offers equal opportunities in our selection, training and development of staff. Here at Tik-Tok we constantly work to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained. We received a positive OFSTED report, here is what it said;
“Children are confident and show an increasingly positive and enthusiastic attitude to their activities. They spend time at both directed and chosen tasks and are keen to succeed. They concentrate well and their behaviour is good overall… They develop good skills in communication, make satisfactory progress in mathematics and have well planned opportunities to investigate and explore.”
